GLASS lenses in a metal frame. Both plus and minus on the same rack. Even if you have no idea what the prescription is, just flip it over to the opposidte sign. Really easy and fast. The frame is easily taken apart if you need to do a deep clean of the lenses. It has been stored in a leather sleeve. Both show signs of wear, after 40+ years of use. Still the best rack I have ever used. Has a protractor at the base to help locate axis more accurately
